Divinum Mysterium was commissioned by eighth blackbird with a grant from Meet the Composer/Arts Endowment Commissioning Music/USA. This commissioning program is made possible by a generous support from the Catherine Filene Shouse Foundation with additional support from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Helen F. Whitaker Fund and the Dayton Hudson Foundation. eighth blackbird recorded the work for Cedille Records in 2004. The recording can be heard on spotify.

scarlet thread was written as a gift for the composer's wife, Hsing-ay Hsu. The work was premiered at the Works & Process series at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. The work was later included in the American Composers Invitational as part of the 2005 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition.

To Love a Flower

To Love a Flower was commissioned by David Hummer for flutist Christina Jennings and violist Matthew Dane. Matt and Christina are married and parent two beautiful young children. The title is a quote from The Little Prince which is a book about the magic of childhood and the potential sorrow of adulthood.
